Nickelback’s ‘All the Right Reasons’ Receives Diamond Certification in U.S.
Congratulations are in order for Nickelback, who have achieved one of the rarest accomplishments in the music industry. Their 2005 chart-topper All the Right Reasons has just been certified Diamond in the U.S. by the RIAA for 10 million units moved.
The record has reportedly spent over 200 weeks on the Billboard 200 and even managed to land inside the Top 10 during its 100th week and two more weeks beyond that. All the Right Reasons yielded five singles: “Photograph”, “Savin’ Me”, “Far Away”, “If Everyone Cared” and “Rockstar,” all of which reached the Top 20 of the Hot 100 Singles.
Guitarist Ryan Peake commented on the achievement, stating, “We’re very thankful to have an album that so many people have appreciated. We never imagined this would be possible and for that we are humbled and so grateful 10 million times over. We are honored to have reached this milestone with All the Right Reasons, none of which would be possible without all the amazing people that have supported us.”
The record has sold 7.96 million copies in the U.S., and received the certification, which is reserved for sales in excess of 10 million copies, from the RIAA based on the addition of album streams which are now factored into the overall numbers. Now, 10 digital tracks sold or 1,500 video and song streams equate to one unit sold.
“When we started this band, never in our wildest imagination did we ever think we would get a label deal and put a record out, get a song on the radio, tour outside of our home territory and be gifted with the opportunity to meet so many amazing friends, supporters and talented musicians the world over along the way,” said frontman Chad Kroeger. “These were all just dreams that three guys from Hanna, Alberta never could have fathomed. Thank you to everyone that has embraced All the Right Reasons in their own way. To this day, it remains a very special album to us and we are truly humbled to all of you for making every dream we could have hoped for come true.”
Nickelback’s new album, Feed the Machine, will arrive on June 9 and fans can check out the title track here. They’ll spend most of the summer on the road in North America and a list of all tour dates can be found at our 2017 Guide to Rock + Metal Tours.
